De in Glasgow residerende Richard Youngs (VK) is sinds 1979 actief en kan terugblikken op een omvangrijk en veelzijdig oeuvre dat het levenslicht zag via diverse labels als No Fans, Jagjaguwar, VHF of Table of the Elements. Als multi-instrumentalist beheerst hij onder andere gitaar, zang, shakuhachi, accordeon, theremin, dulcimer en zelfgemaakte synths. Zijn vroege opnames werden gekenmerkt door minimalistische lo-fi technieken met taperecorders en minidiscs.

Jarenlang trad Youngs slechts sporadisch op, voornamelijk in Glasgow, maar de laatste jaren tourt hij vaker. Zijn recente concerten leggen meer nadruk op zang, geïnspireerd door een laptopgebaseerde performance. In 2025 verscheen zijn jongste album Hidden op het gerenommeerde label Black Truffle van Oren Ambarchi.
