BRDCST x Liveurope: 7 shows you’ll brag about seeing first

BRDCST 2026 is packed with early discoveries, and a big part of that comes through Liveurope: a pan-European initiative supporting concert venues in their efforts to promote European music diversity. So more emerging European talents get the stage time they deserve, across borders.

These are the shows you’ll be name-dropping left right and centre soon.

Carme López

Galician artist, teacher and researcher Carme López explores the bagpipes in a way you rarely hear. While the instrument is traditionally associated with festive melodies and a male-dominated tradition, López radically shifts that context. She creates dark, slowly shifting drones and soundscapes that completely detach the bagpipes from their folkloric origins.

Inspired by pioneers like Éliane Radigue, Pauline Oliveros and Kali Malone.

dumama

South African Berlin-based musician, composer, sonic poet and creative producer dumama makes nomadic future folk. A few quotes at her address: “A bewitching musical odyssey” (The Guardian), “an electronic folk masterwork” (Afropunk), “This is absolutely brilliant!” (Gilles Peterson).

Fauna

Fauna is an eight-member collective from Gothenburg, Sweden, that has already captured attention with their debut singles Animalisk and Cirkel (both from 2023). They describe their sound as “an organic, psychedelic & dance friendly experience”. If you ask us: Fauna will be one of the festival revelations of 2026, with BRDCST (as well as Roadburn) as worthy early adopters and devotees.

The bug vs Ghost Dubs

Ready for the clash of the dub titans? In Boomkat’s 2025 charts, they asked Brussels-based Kevin Martin a.k.a. The Bug for his favourite albums of 2025. Goodness by feeo and The Film by SUMAC & Moor Mother resided in his Top 10. Seeing as both are present at BRDCST, we figured The Bug could join the bill too, alongside his coups de cœur. Coincidence or not: The Bug vs Ghost Dubs made one of the best albums of the past year in the form of Implosion.

The Alien Dub Orchestra w/ Elijah Minnelli

He goes by the name of Elijah Minnelli, he hails from the fictive city Breadminster – after which his label Breadminster County Council is named – and he is our new dub hero. But we’re not the only fans of his: The Alien Dub Orchestra, consisting of core members of The Notwist and members of Caribbean folk trash band G.Rag y los hermanos Patchekos, share a great love for the work of Elijah Minnelli. Together they transform his studio work into vivid live versions.

Elijah on that: “The idea of real, competent professionals playing something you’ve muddled together on a computer in a damp basement is quite overwhelming. Hearing them interpret and improve these melodies is a real joy and privilege.”

Ultan O’Brien

Young Irish viola player Ultan O’Brien is known for his idiosyncratic approach to making music: deeply rooted in the traditional music of County Clare, Ireland, yet constantly seeking new forms, textures, and improvisational freedom.

For fans of: Milkweed, Brìghde Chaimbeul and Shovel Dance Collective.

One Leg One Eye

Let’s not beat around the bush: AB and BRDCST are die-hard Lankum fans, including their offshoots. Lankum even excelled and curated at AB in 2024. So, no doubt we had to bring this offshoot of Lankum frontman Ian Lynch back to the festival. CTM about One Leg One Eye: “The weight of Irish history and myth, infused with the raw aesthetics of black metal and noise.”
